PREPARING FOR

YOUR FLOAT

So, you’ve made an appointment and are preparing to come in for your first float…yay!! But now what? What do you do? What do you bring? All that we ask you to bring is an open mind and yourself.

Here are some helpful tips to ensure you get the most out of your floats:

  • Show up a at least 20 minutes early for your first float, or as early as you like thereafter. You will receive an introduction to floating and have time to hangout in our lounge before your session. Sign our guestbook, relax and enjoy some complimentary tea.

  • We will provide you with everything you need, including a towel, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, ear plugs, lotion, Q-tips, Moroccan oil, and hairdryers.

  • Unfortunately we have a strict "no hair color/treatment within the past two weeks" rule. Hair dye is a float tank's worst enemy, and the solution has a very high chance of ruining your fresh hair. A good rule of thumb is once your hair stops bleeding on your towels at home, you are good to go.

  • We recommend floating nude. You will have an entirely private room with a shower but of course we want you to do whatever you feel comfortable with.

  • Have a small meal an hour or two before your appointment, nothing too heavy.

  • Avoid caffeine for roughly four hours before your float. If you need your coffee to get going in the morning…we feel you, just try to limit it to one cup.

  • It’s a good idea to avoid shaving for at least 24 hours beforehand, however shaving your face is usually not a problem. We also advise not to float with any open wounds as the Epsom salt can have an irritating effect on the skin.

  • If you wear contacts, you will  want to remove them before your float. Please bring lens solution, a case, and anything else you might need.

  • Feel free to explore different positions, and utilize the float props. The halo behind your head is amazing for helping the neck muscles relax, and arms over your head is a little slice of heaven.
